OUR PRESENT!

St Paul's was built in 1884. Over the years the congregations, which have worshipped here, have seen many improvements.

Access to the sanctuary and basement is reached by a labyrinth of stairs and although visually pleasing to the eye they impede accessibility for the physically challenged. The only easy access to our lovely sanctuary is through St. Paul's Court where you will find an elevator. However, this is for our residents' use and is therefore not meant as a street level access for those who wish to attend services and meetings. It has become clear that an elevator is absolutely necessary.

We have begun the construction phase! The latest pictures are posted below. The most current will be placed at the top, and that will mean there will be a lot of scrolling to get to the bottom of this page. Sorry about that. Please, be patient while the photos load! It will be very interesting to watch the progress!

Well, folks, the grand opening celebrations are scheduled for
Jan. 16, 2005.
For those of you who have not yet been inside the new addition, here are the latest pictures!

Enter from the street level to this spacious area. At the left, you will see the original brickwork. In the picture on the right, you will see the ramp that leads you to the lower hall of the church.
Straight ahead of the front door, you can see the door to Nellie's office. Nellie can see daylight now and is enjoying that fact!
The left picture shows John's new office. The curving staircase is nice and wide and the steps are easy to navigate for older legs!
Upstairs is another spacious gathering area, well lit, with a nice hall that leads to the sanctuary. The elevator will certainly be a boon to those who are not able to navigate the stairs!

Come and see for yourself, the wonderful work that has been done!

we're getting started!

July 25 upon arriving at Church on Sunday, Lucas remarked to his Dad "Now my castle is green!" Lucas is three and in his mind, this new building is his castle!

The truck arrived at 7:00 a.m. to do the lifting of the spire. The rain eased up just in time for this. A group of about 25 people came to see the lift take place.

July 27, 2004  It took 15 minutes from beginning to end!
These pictures were taken on Aug. 17, 2004. It has been a while since new pictures have been posted to the web site, however, the work has been continuing! Shown to the left is the diminishing pile of bricks the workers have been busily working with. The picture on the  right is showing one wall nearly completed!
The picture on the left shows where they have gone into the bottom level of the older building. The picture on the right shows the connection to the upper floor.
Stairs are now in place between the two levels. Shown on the right is the "wall" between the offices of the secretary and the minister.

shown here is some work that is progressing on the inside. Can you begin to think how many tradesmen it takes to work on a project like this?
It has been a while since new pictures have been posted. The workmen have been busy inside and out! These pictures were taken Nov. 10, 2004
