| The link "THIS MONTH" will take a look at
the most recent entry to "happenings in the past ". We share
over 200 years of history and there are plenty of
wonderful stories to be told! We also have eleven
beautiful stained glass windows, and a magnificent pipe
organ that has recently been overhauled, just to mention
a few. We hope you enjoy your visit on this page and feel
encouraged to join us at worship. The "HISTORY ARCHIVES" link will take you back to previous entries we have managed to produce. Here, we have also provided some photos included on our site, so please be patient, as these do take some time to download.

| A member of our congregation has asked if we can help him.
He writes:
I purchased this photograph for five dollars
at a yard sale in Port Dover a couple of summers ago.
The fellow selling it knew nothing of its
history but because there was no doubt in my mind that it was St Paul's,
I bought it. I have asked a couple of individuals, who I felt might know
something of it or recognize some of the individuals. Neither of them
could identify anyone. I thought they might recognize some of the Innes
or Jackson folk, who I'm sure must be there. Someone thought one of
the young fellows might be the late Hilton Forsyth, long-time Clerk
of Session in later years.????
There is no doubt that the minister is Dr.
Dey, who died about 1921, I believe. Therefore, the photo was probably
taken in the early teen years of the 20th century. The lamp appears to
be a gas lamp I think.
The dress of the MEN would
appear to be about the WW I era, I think.
I hope that by putting it on the website,
someone might see it and be able to at least give us some clues to who
and what group is represented.
Please contact the church office, or the web mistress if you have any info worthy of passing along. Thank you! |
