Welcome to the Hockey Page!

St. Paul’s Hockey Club - 2002 If my memory is correct (and I do not guarantee that) our first season was 1979-80. I do remember the score was 11-0 for our opponents in our debut game.

One of the first players to join the team was Willie N. Over the years, many men and boys have played for our church. At times, fathers and sons were team mates. The main requirements to play for our team, is a commitment to attending church. This policy has been tested over the years. I once refused to sign a player because he did not attend a church. Unfortunately the following week he was playing for another team in the church league, but this is our team’s policy, and I am very proud of our players for it.

1979-80 to 2002-03 is a long time to maintain a hockey team for any church. Our win/loss team record may not be the greatest, but our player record for church involvement is fantastic and that’s what it’s all about.

Oh’ by the way, Willie N. is still playing on our church team. In fact, Willie now plays along side his son-in-law, Mike.

I thank all who have followed our team over these many years. It is great to have your fan support. A special thanks to Jacklyn N. (the lady I call 10) for her support to our team and especially to me.

Now if the team would only get a good coach.

St. Paul's is fortunate to have among them a group of men who enjoy being together and having a fun game of hockey. The fellowship that is granted through this sport is also shared by their family members who attend as many games as possible.

Here is the team for the 2002-2003 season,
along with some of their fans!
