WEB COMMITTEE

2009 Annual Report

A full decade has passed since the inception of our church web site. Judy-Ann, our web master keeps the site as up to date as humanly possible. With much help from Nellie to keep dates accurate, the amount of work needing to be done has been greatly reduced since the inception of this project. There was a technical glitch at the end of the year with Judy-Ann’s computer coming to an end. One month later, after the purchase of a new one, it too had its issues. So unfortunately, there was a period of time when the web site could not be updated.

The web site continues to be fairly simple in design and easy to navigate. There is one section in the calendar which you can access any of the 12 months of the year. There is another section that applies to the annual reports and bulletins for the past 3 Sundays, unless it’s summer and no bulletin announcements are posted. The minister’s page has seen some revisions this year. Sermons are now available for three months, unless a guest minister has delivered the sermon. The photo album has been cleaned up with several photos being taken this past year with this being a busy year for our congregation. Thank you to Leighton & Shirley Peach for taking most of the photos which we are able to share on the internet.

A specific area that has not been revised in quite some time is the history section. If you have anything interesting to share regarding the history of our congregation, write your article, and if it’s an option, forward any available photos to the Web office. I would be happy to add your information to the site.

The addition of sermons and preparation of photos for the web site have added more time. I feel that by including these, it helps to portray a more accurate picture of what our congregation is truly about.

Respectfully submitted:

Judy-Ann Macaulay

2008 Annual Report

The web site for St Paul ’s began January 1, 2000 and nine years later, it has become a useful tool for many people. Judy-Ann is the web master and keeps the site as up to date as humanly possible. With much help from Nellie to keep dates accurate, the amount of work needing to be done has been greatly reduced since the inception of this project.

The web site has been designed to be fairly simple, and easy to navigate. There is one section for the calendar where you can go to any of the 12 months in the year. There is another section for the annual reports and the bulletins for the past 3 Sundays, unless it is the summer and no bulletin announcements are posted. (The reason for this is simply that your web master enjoys traveling!) Another section that has recently been revamped is the page from the minister. On that page you will see the previous 3 sermons that have been given, (that is, if the written copy has been received!) Yet another section holds as many photos as has been passed on. This year, Shirley P. has been most helpful in sending several photos of the various events. Pictures don’t always get onto the website the same day as they are sent, but, they usually manage to be posted fairly shortly after! There are a couple more sections where links to other web sites are listed,  a profile of our town for potential visitors to the area, and last but not least, a history section where you can learn about the stained glass windows, or the workings of the pipe organ just to name a couple.

I am including a short chart for you to be aware of the hours that it has taken to learn to run, and maintain this website. Over the years, I have learned a lot of different things and for that I am grateful for that opportunity. As you can see, the hours have lessened as I have learned to do things in an easier, more efficient way.
